U.S. Rep. Connie Mack IV confirmed Thursday that he will run for the Republican Senate nomination.
“I will speak a lot more about this coming soon…..but I’m running,’’ he said outside his office at the House of Representatives.
When asked if he thought he had a good chance of winning, he said, “ Yeah, of course.”
Mack’s senior adviser, David James, said on Wednesday night that Mack will announce his candidacy in the coming weeks.
James made the announcement after Mack began alerting supporters of his intentions.
Mack’s comments today were the first from him about the race.
