For Which We Stand

United We Stand Stronger As Americans

More and more I am becoming disillusioned about the Democratic Party and many Independents and Republicans who support the election of Hillary Clinton, regardless of what she has done that is clearly criminal. This morning I woke up to news that 15 Guantanamo detainees are being sent to the UAE in a major transfer.

Obama, it appears, does not care that American soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines, along with many from the Intelligence Community, have either risked their lives, or given their lives to capture those terrorists and send them to Gitmo. Those released this morning or last night, are among the most evil of the evil. They were a part of those who planned, supported or involved in not only 9/11, but terroristic acts against Americas and/or our allies.

Something is very wrong when the so called "Commander In Chief" orders releasing Terrorists back into the world they were taken from. They now will be able to plan, organize, and carry out future terrorist attacks on our young men and women we send to that part of the world to fight or defend. Thy will have another opportunity to plan, organize and carry out the next major attack on our America. This time it may be even more horrific than 9/11, if that is even possible.

Think what you will about President Bush, but since 9/11 his leadership prevented any major Terrorist attack on the continental United States of America during the eight years that followed that horrible day. I can't count the number of terrorist attacks there have been across this great country of ours. I can't count the number of dead and mutilated American citizens during the past eight years of Obamas "lack of leadership". Compare the two American Presidents after 9/11 brought America together, standing as one nation under God. One, America grew together, the other America grew a part! Can you guess which one gave us 8 years of relative safety here in America? Can you guess which one gave us 8 years of fear, a growing number of terrorist acts and not only America torn apart, but a world crumbling under the threat of a growing terrorist ideology? I don't have too guess, I know!

Now, if you believe the poles, more and more Americans want Hillary to lead our country, giving us not only 8 more years of Obama's economy, Obama's lack of leadership, Obama's accommodating a path for terrorists to enter our America, and then there is the assurance of absolute two Liberal Justices being appointment but more likely three or four more very liberal Justices being appointed, locking in Socialism as our new way of governance. Socialism, how did we get here? Where have we missed the growing liberal agenda to change the mindset of our youth, growing socialism in our schools, our local communities, our state government, and of course at the top, all three branches of government. The process is almost complete! And I fear America is too blind to see what is coming, almost welcoming the transition from a once free America to an almost certain Socialistic way of life.

What happened? How did we miss it? It may not be too late! Election day is not quite here and the votes have not yet been counted! I pray America wakes from their lumber and ignite the flame in her belly to be free again, free from the growing threat that is ISIS! Yet the bigger threat comes from within, from our own President's desire the "Transform" America into something our "Forefathers" never envisioned when they wrote that incredible document! Why would anyone want to change that? How can we let that happen?

God heard my Prayer today

God heard my prayer todayNow I know God hears my prayer’s every day, but today, I really felt he was paying attention to me as I said a prayer for my son who is in serious harm’s way right now, you know, that part of the world where everyone is demonstrating with violence all around. No sooner than I finished my prayer, a simple prayer, that went something like this:“Dear Lord, I know you hear from me every day and I am always asking for so many things related to our troops, my son, and my…Continue

Ten Commandments of Human Relations

The fundamental issue in human ethical behavior is summarized by Jesus in what we have come to call "The Golden Rule." Jesus put it this way:

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 7:12 TNIV).

It asks us to test our treatment of others by putting ourselves in their place. Treat others the way you would want them to treat you in the same or similar circumstance.

Somebody took that principle and translated it into Ten Commandments of Human Relations. You may have seen this anonymous piece, for it circulates in a variety of settings. In case you have missed it, I am reproducing it here.

Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting.

Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.

Call people by name. It is music to anyone’s ears to hear the sound of his or her name.

Be friendly and helpful.

Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do is genuinely a pleasure. If it isn’t, learn to make it so.

Be genuinely interested in people. You can like almost anyone, if you try.

Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.

Be considerate of the feelings of others. There are usually three sides to a controversy — yours, the other fellow’s, and the correct one.

Be alert to serve. What counts most in life is what you do for others.

Live with a good sense of humor, a generous dose of patience, and a dash of humility appropriate to being human.

Made in God’s image, all of us have something to be valued!

The great challenge in human experience is not work skills, but people skills. That is, research has shown that the majority of people who fail in their vocation do so because they cannot get along with people.

You might think through the meaning of these ten common-sense ideas for your own workplace and personal activity. But what about the larger setting for your daily life? These principles work everywhere you go, for they are about showing respect to the people you meet in all those places.

Made in God’s image, all of us have something to be valued, affirmed, and acknowledged by others. But let it begin with us to acknowledge it in them. As the cycle of giving and receiving enlarges, the human community comes alive.
