Precursor to the Mark of the Beast

A few years ago, while visiting family in Maryland, I attended church with my brother. It was a very hip contemporary church. The pastor who looked in his early forties wore a shirt and jeans. I saw a parishioner with a Mohawk haircut and others with tattoos. This is not a judgment, merely an observation that the congregation was very racially diverse…

Hysteria Over Cruz Illustrates What We're Up Against.

Wow! Can you believe how Ted Cruz is catching it from both sides in response to his powerful speech announcing his quest to win the White House in 2016? As expected, the Left is doing their typical thing calling Cruz extreme, stupid and crazy. Conservatives are taking shots at Cruz because he has not mastered walking on water.…

February: Annual White America Sucks Month

chris gardner

Bashing white America and stirring the pot of racial discord has become in vogue all year round. But every February, the usual suspects (race profiteers and America haters) use Black History Month to double down on their rhetoric. Their operatives who control our public schools lay guilt trips on white…

The Great 2016 Tea Party Dilemma

I had the honor of hanging out with a great group of patriots, the Ft Lauderdale Tea Party. I was the keynote speaker at their 309th consecutive meeting. My message articulates why Conservatism is best for all Americans and why Liberalism is destructive. My presentation also includes me singing which enhances my message because music strikes a universal emotional chord.

Sarah Palin Is Right: Go on Offense, Tout Conservatism

SARAH PALIN IS RIGHT Forty years ago when my Aunt Nee was the pastor of the Holy Temple Church of Truth, an east Baltimore storefront, during testimony service Sister Davis or Sister Cleary would spontaneously lead the tiny congregation in singing, “We're Livin' In the Last Days.” “They're calling wrong right. They're calling right wrong. Surely, we're livin' in the last days!”

As I listened to…

Profiling: Sin or Survival Instinct

Profiling: Sin or Survival Instinct

It was after dark. I was taking a short cut to the convenience store through an alley. Ahead of me, a middle-aged white woman was walking down a side street and started to enter the alley. Upon realizing that I would be walking behind her, she made a quick turn out of the alley. Once inside the convenience store, I saw the woman come in.…

Enough With The Ferguson Pandering

In all the media coverage of the riots in Ferguson, an annoying false premise has been allowed to stand as though it were an unquestionable truth. Talking heads on the left and right are saying while rioting is not the way, there is a need for change in America. What the heck change are they talking about?…

When Will the NAACP Truly Help Its People?

Upon reading a post election article in which the NAACP is all fired up about supposed black voter suppression, my response was when will these people ever seriously do something to help black people?  Folks, I am sorry, but the NAACP…

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? No, the election is a few days away and we have not yet secured the U.S. Senate for the Republicans. I know everyone keeps saying it is in the bag, but it is not over until all the votes have been counted.

It has been reported that voting machines…

Democratic Party: America's Resident Evil

A New York Times article exposed that the Democrats are expecting to have their clocks cleaned in the election in a week or so. Democrats believe that their only hope is to get out the black vote.  How do they plan to achieve this? Of course, with their tried and true tactic of race…

“Land” Slide Preferable: We'll Be Happy with a Terri Lynn Land Win!

I had my first taste of Walleye in Michigan. Delicious. Folks up there are use to hearty meals. And man, does it get cold. I remember David and Dustin the Millennials on our Conservative Campaign Committee team walking on the snow covered frozen Lake Michigan in Petoskey. A gentlemen was way out there fishing through a hole he cut in the ice.…

The Five-Dollar Lady, the GOP & Rob Maness for U.S. Senate

Caution Blacks: White Men At Large

It was the 1970s. My black buddy Joe told me about a job opening for a Graphic Designer in the art department at WJZ-TV, an ABC affiliate television station in Baltimore. Dick Weisberg, the white department head liked my portfolio, thought I was a good fit for his team and hired me.…

Where is Our Voice in the Wilderness Touting Conservatism?

For crying out loud, will someone “pleeeeease” take a stand for Conservatism? Someone forwarded this article to me, “Why Are Republicans Suddenly Leaning Left?”  The article cites numerous examples of the GOP obviously believing it must embrace at least lukewarm Liberalism while backing away…

Ten Commandments of Human Relations

The fundamental issue in human ethical behavior is summarized by Jesus in what we have come to call "The Golden Rule." Jesus put it this way:

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 7:12 TNIV).

It asks us to test our treatment of others by putting ourselves in their place. Treat others the way you would want them to treat you in the same or similar circumstance.

Somebody took that principle and translated it into Ten Commandments of Human Relations. You may have seen this anonymous piece, for it circulates in a variety of settings. In case you have missed it, I am reproducing it here.

Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting.

Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown, only 14 to smile.

Call people by name. It is music to anyone’s ears to hear the sound of his or her name.

Be friendly and helpful.

Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do is genuinely a pleasure. If it isn’t, learn to make it so.

Be genuinely interested in people. You can like almost anyone, if you try.

Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.

Be considerate of the feelings of others. There are usually three sides to a controversy — yours, the other fellow’s, and the correct one.

Be alert to serve. What counts most in life is what you do for others.

Live with a good sense of humor, a generous dose of patience, and a dash of humility appropriate to being human.

Made in God’s image, all of us have something to be valued!

The great challenge in human experience is not work skills, but people skills. That is, research has shown that the majority of people who fail in their vocation do so because they cannot get along with people.

You might think through the meaning of these ten common-sense ideas for your own workplace and personal activity. But what about the larger setting for your daily life? These principles work everywhere you go, for they are about showing respect to the people you meet in all those places.

Made in God’s image, all of us have something to be valued, affirmed, and acknowledged by others. But let it begin with us to acknowledge it in them. As the cycle of giving and receiving enlarges, the human community comes alive.
