Philippians 3:7 says, “But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ”. We must come to realize that things that seem to be of profit to us pale in comparison to the unsearchable riches of Christ. Colossians 2:3 says, “In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge”. Proverbs 16:16 says, “How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!” Paul prayed for us in Ephesians 1:17-18 saying, “17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints”.
Everything and everyone must take a second place to our devotion to Christ who is the Anointed One with the precious Anointing of God. Luke 14:26-27 says, “26 If any man come to Me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after Me, cannot be My disciple”. A disciple is a disciplined follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. It takes true discipline to put the Lord, His Word, the Holy Ghost, and His love above everything else in our lives. This discipline is only attainable through our cooperation with the Holy Ghost each day. Luke 14:33-35 says, “33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be My disciple. 34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear”. In summarization, it is only the disciplined followers of the Lord that are actually considered to be salt in this sick and sinful world. Those that are not disciplined in their walk with the Lord are actually of no benefit to anyone. May we all cooperate with the indwelling Holy Ghost and change accordingly. Amen. Hallelujah!
